We are always interested in and looking for new brands, products, and experiences that align with our mission and current theme.

It is our goal to provide a unique assortment of items for our customers, and to help small businesses reach their audience in authentic ways (we know the struggle of navigating social media, paid ads, lugging items to pop-up markets and still feeling like you’re not doing enough!). We believe there’s nothing like selling IRL, and we want to make it easier for customers to see, feel, touch, and fall in love with your products!

From clothing, jewelry and accessories to toys, books, home decor and packaged snacks - we’re looking for fun, unique and interesting products that appeal to kids of any age.

We’re looking for products that fall under the quite broad theme of FEELINGS - meaning products that foster collaboration, support relaxation, promote expression, confidence, balance, focus and empowerment. Things that help nurture a better sense of self - both personally and socially.

Platform is a community shopping center located in Culver City on the West Side of Los Angeles, surrounded by families and uniting the best in independent retail, restaurants, and culture.

Our neighbors include: Reformation, Roberta's Pizza, Blue Bottle Coffee, Sweetgreen, and Van Leeuwen Ice Cream.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Products that can fall under our FEELINGS theme, and appeal to kids of any age; categories such as clothing, jewelry, accessories, toys, books, home décor, furniture, packaged snacks. Products that foster collaboration, relaxation, balance, focus, expression, confidence, positivity, and empowerment!

Please Note: There are times when a category is full at a given moment - we want to ensure no category is oversaturated to give brands maximum visibility. If we love and are able to bring in your work, we will get in touch as soon as that category opens up, or for future pop-ups!

OUR SALES MODEL

We partner directly with brands to offer a curated selection of products, through a consignment contract. Each product is hand selected and merchandised together in our shop; we do not rent out dedicated spaces.

BENEFITS TO BRANDS

We make it easy for you to have the benefits of a permanent retail location at an affordable price – we provide experienced sales staff, a beautiful space that is open 7 days a week in the gorgeous Platform shopping area, a central and easily accessible location in Culver City, workshops and other in-store events, partnerships with local businesses to increase our customer base, and more!

  • Your product(s) displayed in a beautifully merchandised brick and mortar store, exposure to customers 7 days a week.

  • Prime location close to downtown Culver City, and other shopping, dining and entertainment options. Culver City is nearly 40% families, as well as many working professionals with nearby tech and startup offices (like Amazon Studios, Apple, and TikTok).

  • Exposure to Platforms' customer base, who repeatedly frequent Platform’s other highly curated businesses including Roberta’s Pizza, Blue Bottle, Aesop, Van Leeuwen, Reformation and more!

  • All displays, merchandising and in-store needs are covered by us - this includes experienced full-time staff, POS, sales tax, customer service, shopping bags, etc.

  • Information about your brand (including a QR code to your IG) in store.

  • Dedicated email to our mailing list highlighting your brand - the history, you as a founder, your products etc.

  • Dedicated feed post on our Instagram, plus at least 2x a month on our stories.

  • Marketing and PR of the ‘FEELINGS at pLAy’ space done by pLAy (through IG adds, placement in local and online publications) and Platform (who boast a 150K email list!), and strategic workshop partners who will be bringing in their customer base and spreading the word about FEEINGS at pLAy to their followers!

COSTS & FEES

There will be a small monthly vendor fee, and a 20-30% commission based on the number of SKU’s and product price points. This fee is collected to pay for the up-front costs like marketing, insurance, our location, staffing, and it also allows us to invite kid entrepreneurs to pop-up on weekends at no cost. Think of it as an investment in the future!!

SALES TAX

pLAy will charge sales tax, and handle paying to the appropriate local and federal tax departments.

THE YOUNG ENTREPRENEUR SCHOLARSHIP

In addition to our Kidpreneur Pop Up Markets, we will be accepting 3 entrepreneurs (under the age of 18) to sell their products in store with no vendor fee. pLAy will only keep a 20% commission on these sales to help cover the cost of staffing, rent, and other overhead expenses.

LIABILITIES

We do everything in our power to keep your items safe. However, in the event that something goes missing or is broken, we cannot be held responsible.

CONTRACT REQUIREMENTS

Each vendor is required to commit to the 3 month temporary pop-up term, running from April 4-June 27, 2024.
